The School at Karubabi, Muramvya

The Harvest Initiatives school in Karubabi, Muramvya has become a beacon of hope for so many in the community. In a country longed plagued by ethnic devisions and severe poverty, the school is helping to bring ethnic groups together, providing meals for kids who otherwise wouldn't have any and raising up a generation who for the first time are receiving an education.

This school has the potential to transform a community; to bring unity amongst the ethnic groups; to raise leaders who will transform their world for Jesus.  And already this is happening. ~ Doug & Deanna Hiebert

Our Project This Year

This year our goal is fill the school library with French books and supplies in the. Although Kirundi is the native language spoken by kids attending the school, all students in Burundi are required to learn French in order to progress in their studies. If they can't pass French tests, they can't continue to the next grade. Many schools in the country are not able to properly teach French and therefor a high percentage of kids aren't able to pass the required French language tests and eventually drop out. We do no want this to be the story of the kids attending this school!

Canada and France have some of the best French educational books in the world so all funds given to this project will go to the purchasing of these supplies from these countries and help cover the transportation costs for bringing them over to Burundi.

You can give to this project by Credit Card or by Cash/Cheque at Cornerstone Community Church.

All gifts towards this project are tax deductible and receipts will be sent out.
